A practice also commonly known as Paper Mache, the history of decoupage can be traced to 12th Century China by way of Siberia. Whereby, Nomadic tribes cut out felts to decorate and honour the tombs of the dead. Evolving from the Nomadﾒs tradition, the Chinese have used this technique of Decoupage to decorate lanterns, windows and many other objects.
