My name is Beverley Wheatley
I am not quite sure what category I should be in. I have been quilting for about
ten years or so but have only ever been on two short courses. Most of what I
do is self taught but I just love making things out of practically nothing.
I would say intermediate but feel free to swap me to another category if you
think different.
The story behind this quilt is that some close friends had been on holiday to
the Galapagos Islands and being wildlife enthusiasts had taken lots of photographs
of the local wildlife. I was inspired to use your cotton fabric backed printer
paper to print the photos and make them into a quilt.
I couldn't believe how easy it was to print them then peel the backing off and
use like any other fabric. The fact that you can hand wash them without the
colours running was a bonus and yes I did wash each and every one of them to
make sure.
